So i take my mom out to the range today to shoot several of my lighter and managable weapons, all was going well until I pulled out my trusty..until now, Ruger mk 3 22/45, i load up a mag, chamber a round and....nothing, not even a click. Big problem.

The trigger pull doesn't feel right and the sear doesn't seem to be engaging the hammer, i can feel the spring tension up when i #### it but i can also feel it let go as it carries forward. Ive had the whole thing apart twice right down to the bare bones and there doesn't appear to be any damage. I re-assembled it according to the manual and still nothing. Has anybody had this problem or know of a solution, or am I going to have to send it off to ruger.

The gun is less than a year old and has only had about 1000 rounds through it, if that.

Before you do the above, find someone that is very familiar with that firearm and have them take it apart and put it back together just to be sure that you have not assembled it incorrectly.

Take apart again and reassemble paying attention to the hammer arm connecting with the main spring in the latch. Also, that the sear is in the right place. You may have to flip the pistol back and forth to get the parts to line up properly.

Unless a part is broken, they work. I bet you missed something in the reassemble.

Yes, you can put it back and run the slide but the pistol will not function.

+1 Happends to me all the time. That hammer arm is tricky and dosen't like to go on top of the main spring like a good little part should.
