RUGER MKII take down help!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!

This thing is making me crazy, love the gun but fieldstripping is as much fun as screaming "Allah is a fruitcake" in downtown Baghdad.

Anyone have any good tips and links with photos on how to put this fawking this back together properly.

The bolt, the upper and the lower are easy to put together but getting that bar with the angled grip mechanism into the gun is a #####.

It either fits and cannot be cocked or fits slightly when I pull it down to fit into the grip slot it comes out again and I,m back to square one.

Some detailed pics or a priest would be greatly appreciated.

put a empty mag in mag well

hold the trigger in

use a thin screw drive and push hammer all the way forward through the top of the angled grip mechanism slot

take out empty mag and try cocking and firing

It may take a few times to master

also take a break if its pissing you off and try it agian later

the hammer strut is not going to the right position if you cannot #### the gun after assembling. easy way to fix that is to make sure the hammer strut is not stuck (you should see the hammer strut swing freely), and point the gun upwards when you insert the mainspring pin, then slightly backwards to put the hammer strut into the indent in the mainspring during final assembly.

The loop on a safety pin makes a handy disassembly tool.

I found the directions in the manual to be helpful. I also use a modified paper clip for disassembly and to flip the strut into place when assembling.

Well I finally got it, HOLY ####E' what a pain in the ass if you dont know what your looking for and I found the manual as useless as as a planet without women.

But anyhow I can now go back to the range with a clean gun, be envy of all my fellow members and miss the targets in style.

Make sure the hammer is flipped up/back before you put the hammer pin into the strut of the main spring housing.
