I am looking at the above rifle and it is chambered in .300 Win Mag. It is in very good shape, does not have the original red pad, excellent bore, blueing is good, floor plate is a little scatched up not bad though, 24 inch magnum contour barrel, stock shows a couple of dings nothing serious. Looking for a few valuations to base my offer on. The fella dont want pics on here for some reason. Seems legit nice guy, getting out of hunting and says it shoots excelllent. Has rings.

Based on the description alone, about $400 - $500... but I personally would not buy it without pictures... did you check his trader rating and feedback?

Ruger 77 'tang safety' in .300 Win Mag.

Had one back in the day.... nice rifle, great shooter. Mine liked 70 gr IMR 4350 behind a 180 gr JHP. Only sold it when I went to a Browning Abolt in .300 Win Mag with 26" brl [the Ruger had a 24" brl].

------------
NAA.

How much $did you get when you sold it ????

I had one of those in 300 Win Mag, the model with the open sights. Nice enough rifle but not accurate (like 2.5in groups at 100 yards) and I usually do see good accuracy out of my rifles and I am used to magnum chamberings. Tried a couple proven scopes and a different set of Ruger rings but it just wouldn't shoot. Had a look for all the usual, simple fixes. I resold it with full disclosure rather than put time and money into a turd. I do like Ruger 77's though to be clear and all the others I've had have been good.

Back in the MK I days, Ruger used to outsource their barrels.... Apparently, some of the barrel makers weren't up to snuff, and after enough complaints, Ruger started making their own....
