Well, I just had to sell my Ruger No 1 in .375 H&H because of a recent impulsive purchase...so what else is new?

Anyway, I must have another...so, when I can I will buy one.

I think I may decide to wait on a chance to buy an International model. :)

For those of you who have Ruger No 1 rifles...can I see some pictures and hear how wonderful they are, please? If you can "feed my addiction" a little - I'd sure appreciate it!

Here is a picture of the one I just sold wearing a 2-7X Leupold Compact scope. I'm now thinking of getting one in .308 or .270...

Very easy addiction to acquire I have owned 30-06, 280 rem 220 swift 6mm rem 7x57, Lyman commemorative 1978 in 45-70, 250 international custom build 270 win.The Holy Grail of NO 1's is the 222Rem. I do believe first yr of production only.

No.1's

Had a nice 7X57 International, but sold it to finance one of the .303 Btitish No.1's which I absolutely love. Likely will go for one of the proposed .275 Rigby No.1's if they get built. Should have grabbed a .300H+H when Prophet River had some. Seems they've dried up.

I have 3 of them, 2 in .45/70 (one blued, 1 laminated/stainless) and an International in 7x57.
I swapped a .270 Win #1 for the 7x57 and still miss it. I need a replacement.

Okay guys, I have been secretly (don't tell the wife) looking at #1's from the corner of my eye for years now and have bought just about everything else. I have been fighting off the impulse to buy one but can't do it much longer. In keeping with the theme of this thread, while adding your pics please tell me this: Why do you love those Ruger#1's???

Jeff,..you had better attend the gunshow tomorrow..plenty of #1's there...some nice ones too....'specially the blued/grey laminate 45-70...not sure if that's a factory version but it is sharp...

bring lots of money....:D

I've been buying, shooting , and selling Number ones for about 30 years now, the first one cost me 4250 with a scope and a bunch of ammo.
It was in 243 and the only dog I ever owned!
That barrel would just not shoot like it should.
However, I love the stock design, the action, and the little bugs that go along with them that are easily fixed with a bit of minor tinkering .
They are a rock solid action, and even a long 30" barrel does not make the rifle overly long.

The triggers are good, but can be replaced if a fella wants to hot-rod the rig.
What's not to like?!:D

Cause they are really strong actions, really cool looking and a singleshot makes you think about the quality of the shot you are taking.
I've had a 22-250 varmint special, and still own an action with a Canjar set trigger built to 32-30rem with a 28" octagon barrel.
The only gun I like better is a Winchester 1885.

Thanks Dr.Jones,
I have never handled a Ruger#1 before. I certainly agree that they are really cool looking. It's great to know all the rest now. I'm think I'm gonna have to get me one!!!
