I thought the reciever was the same on all the models, and only the barrel, sights, stock etc varied. :confused:

I was tossing some ideas around...but I have to sell my Sako first.:rolleyes:


I like the light weight stalking rifles from Merkel, Heym and Blaser, but can't afford to spend $4000+ on a rifle. The Hagn single shot action weighs 2.5lbs in the mid-size version, but again, the cost is too high for me.

I figured action ~2.5lbs, 20" pipe ~2.0lbs and ultralight stock set from MPI ~1.25lbs for a total of 5.75lbs and an overall length of ~36.5"

I'd top it off with a Leupold 2.5x Compact that I have sitting around doing nothing.

Light and compact...and different. But it is for the most part just kicking ideas around in my head.
 
Something in the medium bore range; .338-06, .35 Whelen, 9.3x62, 9.3x74R....

I'll keep you in mind...
