I have three Ruger semiautomatic centerfire pistols. I own a Ruger P85 MKII 9mm(this is almost the same pistol as a P89), a P90 45acp, and a P97 45acp. I have yet to experience a malfunction with any of these. The trigger pulls are not great but I can live with them for a car/house gun.
Both of my 45acps are very accurate but my P85 MKII was iffy in the beginning. I did send the P85 MKII back to Ruger; the factory laser sighted it and it is now a tack driver! I admit there are handguns out there that please my eyes more but I do not own a more reliable semiautomatic center fire pistol.
My conclusion is these Rugers are one hell of a bargain. How many of our members have ever had a problem with Ruger semiautomatic centerfire pistols or any real reason to recommend another pistol over a Ruger?
Regards,
Richard
