So I recently purchased a P90DC. Figured it was time to try a non-1911 pistol in 45acp.

I know that there are some people that don't like this pistol (think it's ugly, feels like holding a brick, likes to jam, etc), so I felt compelled to post this. First, I personally love the design. Second, after taking a trip to the range, this gun is my new favourite! It's very accurate, and I fired two boxes of (Norinco!) ammo through it with zero issues. It's a big gun, but I have no problems with my small hands.

Nice pic op....would like to try one some time...personal experience often has better results....although not always.....hearsay can be like Chinese whispers...lol

It's not striker fired - it's a conventional DA/SA. Trigger on my KP89D and KP944 were decent, but nothing spectacular. But mine were always very reliable and accurate.

Do yourself a favor and swap out those panels for a Hogue wraparound with fingergrooves. Totally changes the feel of the pistol and makes it MUCH more comfortable.

I personally think the old P series of Rugers are handsome and just plain great guns. Don't believe the hearsay, mine has never jammed, failed to fire or even hiccuped. This and my P89DC are my favourite shooters in my Semi's. Enjoy!

I have the P89, P90, P94. They are great guns. Highly recommend and they are cheap to own, purchase. The P89 is DAO, that isn't the best, trigger is stiff but you get used to it. I actually like the P89 more than a Glock that I unfortunately own for about three times the money(I have the G22, a 40-9 and a 40 Lone Wolf BBL and mags to go with each calibre). These were Rugers effort to get into the Law Enforcement market.

I have had trouble with the Hague grips on one of my "P" series. I think it was the P89, they didn't work. Also had issues with another Ruger a Blackhawk. Just so your aware there are fitment issues out there with these grips.
