Ruger PC Carbine 40 SW available in Canada?

Ya i am also waiting for a 40 sw version to come to canada, I have my FX9 for 9mm already dont see the need for another 9mm but i also have a 40sw sig so already have the pews

Would a takedown 9 and takedown 40 use the same receiver? Could I carry one receiver with two barrels?
While the receiver would probably be the same, even if the bolt was also a shared part you would likely need a different extractor and ejector. It would certainly be more than a simple barrel & mag switch.

The bolt face is removable. Couple that with the takedown barrel feature and the ability to swap mag wells and I am all but certain Ruger intends for easyish cartridge swaps at some point.

I wonder though, bcuz as per with Glock anyway, & I understand most pistols, if you start off with the larger .40 cal, just a swap of the barrel {only} to 9mm works. I have run 100's of 9mm through my Glock 22, & have only switch in the 9mm barrel to do so. Doing it the other way {9 to .40} then you run into extractor problems i.e won't work.

Lone Wolf used to advertise that their Glock conversion barrels were about 95% reliable. Since the 40 S&W & 9mm have very similar diameter case heads they typically will function most of the time when switched back & forth using factory ammo. However, a consistency problem arises when using reloads as the case head diameter will alter slightly from repeated firings which leads to inconsistent extraction & ejection. I'm not saying that you couldn't shoot 40 S&W out of a 9mm Ruger PCC with just a simple barrel change but it is very likely that extraction and/or ejection will not be reliable.

I don’t think that’s there regular price I got a deal cause I paid in full before they ordered it but I had it in three days which is pretty good for northern ontario
