Ruger PC Carbine Trigger Upgrades

Have been reading that a 10/22 hammer and sear will fit with good results. Have also read that it uses the BX group hammer/sear already so it might just want a polish and a overtravel adjustable trigger.

Has anyone used the 10/22 parts and seen a better trigger for their effort?
 
A few people on Brian Enos forums report good results with Volquartsen hammer-sear-trigger-disconnector from 10/22. They also say Kidd trigger job kit is a no go, but it will work with the stock Ruger hammer. Going to try the latter.

VQ also makes a complete trigger assembly for R PC, not cheap though
 
Mcarbo also makes a spring kit that is only $15. Put it in my PCC and it did improve it, but have not checked what it did to overall trigger pull weight etc... yet. Definitely worked much better on the range.

I believe they have pulled this kit from the market as it is no longer on their website. As I understand it some of the spring dimensions changed from the early models to the later models so the kits would not fit. I'm guessing they eventually will get this straightened out but right now it apparently is not an option.
 
Has anyone just tried polishing the contact surfaces with 1000 grit paper. I do 10/22’s and use a honing stone and polish all the surfaces and the hammer spring ball end to a mirror finish. I end up with a 2-1/2lb pull that breaks clean.
That should be a good weight for the 9mm. Best part it’s free!

Kidd trigger assembly with Ruger hammer failed the function check: safety on, pull the trigger, hammer clicks. Back to stock config.

DO NOT put Kidd trigger parts in your Ruger PC

I was advised by an older fellow at my gun club with regards to trigger job, can you advise if it is fact or fiction.

Take your new gun, e.g. PC9, Glock, etc, etc, Flood it with G96 gun cleaner, leave it wet. Insert a snap cap into the gun chamber. Go sit and watch a hockey game on TV and sit there and dry fire the gun. He claims that after several hockey games, all the contact surface with all the parts would be so well mated that it would be the best trigger job period.

What is your opinion with this method?

I guess it works but I prefer to use a honing stone to accelerate the process. Just do a little and put back together and try. Repeat process until you get the desired trigger pull. For Glocks just buy the 3.5lb disconnector and install it and your done. Cheap and super easy to install
