Has anyone out there had any experience replacing the firing pins on Ruger Mk 1 and Mk 2 pistols. Are there any special concerns about placement of the firing pin return spring? Does anyone offer a 'how to' video besides the $45 one offered by AGI?

go to rugerforum.net make ten posts and wait a few days then go to the library and download the ibok for your pistol it will have everything you could ever want to know about your pistol in it

Only really one thing to know.

The firing pin spring pushes the pin away from the breech. Drop the spring in place, slide the pin forward and down. Install cross pin.

Ok, one more thing. If you don't install the firing pin retaining cross bin, it'll work just fine, until someone dry fires it a couple times, and peens over the chamber edge. The cross pin also limits the forward travel of the pin. Just so you know.

Install the cross pin.

Cheers
