The muzzle brake is slight off-indexed but a simple fix. However for the life of me I can't loosen the jam nut?! I assume I should be turning the nut clockwise? Help please! :)

Are you sure it isn't the style where the jam but threads onto external threads of the brake and is tightened against the barrel and not the brake to lock it down? If that's the case you would hold the brake and turn the nut counter clockwise to loosen.

This is what it's supposed to look like when taken off:

I tried to turn clockwise but it wouldn't budge. Didn't want to force it any further before figuring out which direction the nut is supposed to turn. I do see a small space behind (towards the back of the rifle) the jam nut so it SHOULD be clockwise to loosen, then counterclockwise to loosen the brake itself next.

I loosen mine to correct the timing. Use a wrench on the jam nut and a big screw driver into the muzzle brake (wrap screw driver with leather to prevent damage to brake). Turn jam nut clockwise and muzzle brake counter clockwise at the same time. It should loosen with moderate effort.

Thanks. I tried again tonight but no luck. It's on there real tight...

Maybe I need to put my purse down and try again lol
