Just landed myself a nice deal, a new Gen 3 Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor for $1,587.00. Total with tax $1,666.35 which included free shipping.

Rifle in the mail, expecting it next Tuesday.

I have a Vortex Diamondback 6x18x42 which I will put on, but probably upgrade to a better scope when the bank balance recovers.

Anyone have a recommendation for a bi-pod, or mono pod for the butt-stock?

Asking for bipod recommendations is very triggering here on CGN... Careful what you wish for.

Haha, your right there.

I have a good old Harris on my RPR. I only shoot from the bench and prone so it works perfectly for me. I don't like rear mono pods personally. I find a bag is much quicker and easier for adjustment, squeeze and it goes up, don't squeeze it goes down.

Harris, or Magpul for decent quality without paying precious metal prices for an object made of something more mundane. As for the Mono-pod, all the guys I know who own one don't use them much, a good rectangular bag should be more versatile and convenient to use.

Don't wanna brag but I just scored a slightly used gen2 with bipod and a Nikon black for $1300.hope there isn't something seriously wrong with it for previous owner to sell it.Will find out by Tuesday.fingers crossed

There a lot of tacticool gun snobs that will insist that any bipod that retails for less that $300 is junk. Never mind them.

It sounds like you need to be cost conscious and don't feel awkward about that.

With the virus in China, it's not a good time for ebay, so either wait or buy something that's available here.

A Harris or imitation of is always a solid choice. Just don't get one that's too high (meaning legs too long). Having something that allows you to level up the rifle is worth the extra though.

For the money, the Harris or Magpul are still your best bet for a bipod. The imitation and chinese knock off bipods are garbage and you should not be spending any money on them.

If you want something that will last a little longer, then think about spending a little more cash on the Atlas Cal Gen2, as it does everything you'd need.

IMO having a Harris 6-9" BRM-S is always a good idea and will last you 5-10 years of heavy use before the connections give out and shear.

I knew a guy once who put a chandelier in his outhouse.

And I'll bet his movements were glorious!

I've had a few Harris knock-offs that were decent, but only one that I didn't have to screw with (so far). I've had to increase the tension on the legs, and one would just have all the nuts seemingly come loose at the same time, tighten them up and a few months later...

Thanks for the input.

I bought a Magpul Bipod for M-LOK 6061 T-6 Aluminum, Black MAG933-BLK from Bullseye London for $159.99.

I'll post a couple of photos when I've got the rifle all completed.
