ruger precision

With initial loads of 168 gr. Hornady BTHP Match bullets I was averaging .5 to .75 moa at 200 and at 300 it opened up significantly to MOA. Still working on loads though.

Next up are Berger 155gr Match bullets and 178gr. Hornady A Max.
Once the weather improves, I'll take it out to 400, 500 & 600 yds.

I just bought one in 6.5 and they also had tons of ammo, I bought 8 boxes, and competition dies, and I bought 5 boxes of Berger 140 vld's

It was an expensive day

I got my RPR 6.5 last September and other than a 2 week drought in December, I haven't had any issue finding factory ammo, brass and bullets. I bought dies in December and have been reloading ever since. Epps has had a never ending supply of 6.5. I even got the Hornady ELD-Match ammo and bullets. It's a really fun rifle!

Was out on Saturday with another member of the PEIPRA and we had a great time stretching our legs so to speak. Went 100, 300 and 500 yds.
THe pic is from 500yds. The one flyer was suspected when the trigger broke. It happened and it opened up the group. Oh well. I still think it worked out OK. I'll do some tuning on the load, as it was the first with Vihtavouri N140 and Berger Match 155's.

If you're looking to shoot f-class, stick to .308. You'll compete against other .308's and .223's. The bbl burning 6.5's and 7mm's have an advantage over the 6.5cm,in open class. If PRS, I do believe there is now a .308 class as well.

If just for fun, get the one you want! 6.5 will ring long steel better than .308.
