Does anyone know which Ruger Ranch rifles 223 and 7.62x29 would accept the AR mag adapter?
There is a certain serial number range that accepts these adapters, and I want to make sure I get a rifle in which I can use the adapter.

Didn't the Ranch Rifle (aka Mini-14) land on the OIC Prohib list? Or are you talking about the American Ranch Rifle?

I didn't realize there was any differences besides the rotary mag version or the AR for the 5.56. Your best bet is to confirm with Snapshots the Ruger reps in Canada.

The easiest would be just to by one already set up for it if your planning on going with the 5.56, given that I assume you want the 7.62 mini 30 version and then possibly change it over to run lar 7.62 mags?

I did see some discussion recently that snapshots might not have the mag wells available so maybe check on that with them as well......

As for Bum's question, I'm not aware of any stanag conversions for the mini 14's or mini-30's so I'm going to assume when he says Ruger Ranch with conversion possibilities he's talking about the American.

Ruger expanding their vocabulary wouldn't hurt my feelings

There is nothing wrong with Ruger's vocabulary, it's only a problem when people don't use all of the words... like when you see an ad for a "Winny 7mm," are they selling a Model 94 lever action in 7-30 Waters or an M70 bolt action in 7mm Rem Mag or something else?

You can’t use the adapter if your rifle came with the Ruger rotary magazine. The bottom of the bolt is different.

Wrong. My rotary mag broke so I just converted it to AR mags using their AR magwell assembly, part # DBA30453-FDE. Certain earlier models did come with a different shaped bolt and can't be converted. See this post for more details: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...g-conversion-sticky-pls?highlight=ruger+ranch

OP, your best bet is to email Ruger directly with the serial number and they can tell you for certain if it can be converted or not.

I swapped my rotary mags out for the polymer mag that was for the 450 bushmaster. Much better quality. My rifle is a ruger American ranch in 308. The bushmaster mag doesn’t fit flush like the rotary, it only holds 3 or 4 rounds.. but it’s one hell of a lot more durable and reliable.
