Ruger Red Label Over/Under trigger issue

A friend wants to sell his Ruger over under shotgun but the trigger's barrel selector switch is not functioning.

I remember a buddy having the same issue on a duck hunt one time. I've heard it is a common complaint.

Is that something Ruger will correct or is it a private gunsmith job?

Not sure if SnapShots out of PQ is still doing work or supplying Ruger OEM parts. I've worked on the RRL triggers before.

Single selective triggers are complex mechanisms. Your post is unclear wrt the problem, so its difficult to comment, but I would be inclined to send it to someone who is familiar with Ruger shotguns (ie not the average gunsmith).

From what I understand, it is stuck on one barrel.

Well - I interpret that to mean that the same barrel fires after switching the selector. That would qualify as a major fix.

A competent gunsmith should be able to diagnose the problem and decide what to do. Whether to fix it or pass it on... Competent is the key word.
