i found these shotguns very atractive , but i have herd some opinions that they are junk i figure it could be due to the fact ruger guns are casted rather than machined any opinion on these guns will be apreciated. well i am at it i would also like to here opinions on browning pump guns BPS?

They certainly aren't junk and the cast frame isn't an issue.

What I don't like about them in 12 gauge is they are muzzle heavy and leaden in the hands. The trigger pulls are usually not good and the safety/barrel selector switch is strange and not as easy to use as other guns. One of the unfair knocks against the Red Label is that they sometimes seem loose in the action. They aren't. It's the design.

On the plus side they are not expensive, reasonably well made and Ruger has a good record of standing behind its products. I've been attracted to the idea of a Ruger Red Label in 28 gauge with a straight English stock for a field gun. Light, scaled frame, mechanical triggers and reasonably priced makes for an appealing combination.

I've had a red label 20 ga for about ten years used it upland and in the duck blind, never had a problem. I had a BPS in 28 ga for a while also. Nice fit and finish. I never shot it enough to have any problems with it either.
