Hey Guys,

I have a 4.2" redhawk and I just received a 12lb hammer spring for it. I watched a disassembly vid, but am a little nervous to go about this one by myself. Looks easy enough, but worried a part will go flying and I will be up the creek.

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith that would have a decent turn around time, or is anyone on Vancouver Island that could help me.

On the youtube clips, it only takes guys about 8 minutes of work. But, I had a bad experience once that is still lingering in the back of my mind.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Hey Mark,

Sorry about that. There was little interest I the thread, so I didn't bother doing the follow up.

Final result was a 9/10, and here's why:
- the 12lbs spring is 5 lbs lighter than stock and feels great
- fairly easy to install. Say, 30 minutes installed and re-assembled and it was my first time doing it
- trigger still has a long pull (compared to my smiths)
- smoothed the trigger out substantially from stock

I will add the YouTube vid tomorrow for you, and I assure you you will be able to do it. I hesitated and then went ahead anyways and it was a breeze.

If anyone is interested I have extra wolf springs from 12lbs-15lbs because I had to order a whack due to their minimum purchase for shipping...
