Hey guys,
I bought another magazine for my remington 700 5r in 308, since the ruger scout mags are just Accurate Mags re-branded (poorly on butt plate only). I was having issues with the orginial magazine that came with my cadex chassis, where the rounds would not engage the feed ramp, a hard tap was enough to make them engage. Now with the brand new magazine, the first 7 rounds cycle fine (factory ammo) then on the 8th round the bullet is face down instead of at an angle. I remove the mag/tap it and then the round pops up properly angulated, and then it feeds fine for the 8th, 9th and 10th round.
I don't know if this is due to the magazines or something wrong with my rifle? I've ordered 2 MDT polymer mags so hopefully I'll get some consistency out of my magazines. I was thinking of moving to all AICS mags only once I start shooting in matches, but I rather try to figure out what is exactly causing these issues...
