A few months ago I ordered a Ruger Scout in .308 with a 16.5" barrel. Intending to replace the stock with a Macmillan, I chose the synthetic stock now being offered as I felt that it would be easy to sell to someone that wanted to replace their heavier laminate.

When the rifle arrived, I picked it up and was impressed by the light weight of it. I (almost) regretted buying a Macmillan for it as the synthetic stock would be nice and durable and be very light. Then I looked a little closer and realized I hadn't been paying attention to Ruger's latest development. The trigger guard and magazine assembly is molded right into the stock! Perfect for making a durable but lightweight rig, but not so good if you need to harvest the trigger guard and parts to install on a Macmillan stock ! Laugh2

Anyways, I'm sure I can sell/trade it and to come up with what I need and if all else fails I think Pacific T&D makes bottom metal for the rifle. :bangHead:

My Frontier Scout came with the standard Ruger bottom metal so I simply bought a Ruger synthetic stock .
Its a drop in fit and makes the 358 more comfortable to shoot instead of the short laminate stock.
