Hi,
I have just purchased a used Ruger Security Six in 357. It needed a good cleaning and everything disassembled according to the manual. I would however like to remove the extractor rod and star extractor from the cylinder to clean those parts as well. I have a Smith and Wesson model 66 and the extractor rod is easy to remove. The rod on the Ruger does not seem like it wants to unscrew and I am wondering if the Ruger is different and not meant to unscrew. Any advice appreciated as I do not want to force it and break it.
Thanks.
