Anybody know anything about 'em? They're priced significantly lower than other pistol brands, yet I hear they are reliable and well built...500 bucks for one with a stainless slide? Sounds good to me!

Can anybody shed some light on 'em?

BTW I'm talking about the centerfire ones.

The 45ACP seemed nice to hold and that's what I'd get - I almost got one.

The 9x19's felt weird though, felt like I was holding an ice cream cone and not a pistol - not for me at all.

Ruger materials are good - Ruger design is solid - Ruger fit & finish (quality control) can sometimes be spotty.

I never liked the look of their center fire semi-autos. Interesting that they have 106mm barrels (108 mm based on the Canadian measurement procedure). Just make restricted.

Ruger pistols...

I once had a Ruger P90 .45ACP that soured me off of ever getting another Ruger centerfire semi-auto. Those that do have them, particularly the 9mm versions seem to like them, however. And in true Ruger fashion, they do seem to be a good value for the money spent.

I will admit to a fine admiration for Ruger's .22 pistols, though. Darn fine handguns.

I am very interested in the P345 series pistol, which is a "refined" P97. ;) Even slimmer!

Anyone know if they are planning a P345 model in 9mm?
Not a chance! Ruger spend too much time on their single action revolver and seems to be lacking of focus on their centerfire pistol. There P89 is not a bad choice, they are quite reliable. According to Ruger forum, most guy there need to polish the trigger group inorder to make the trigger pull lighter and smoother. Most said the action is rough and lot of tool marks. I belive this because my 10-22 is the same. I shot my friend's P89 and feel the muzzle jump is heavier than any other pistol, used Win clean. If you like the P345 and the only choice will be .45 ACP which is man's caliber.

Great values for the money

I have a KP89DC (Stainless Steel decocker only). Thousands of factory and handloaded through not a single malfunction. But caution, it does not like lead bullets and tends to cause tumbling. It is pretty accurate too. In a glorious day, I put 5 shots in almost 1" grouping bullseye but after changing its grips to a Hogue finger grooved. I strongly recommend it.:)
