Good Day.. I currently have a Ruger SR-22, ISSC MK-22 and a regular 10-22. I'm thinking of trading in the ISSC MK-22 for a Remington 597 VTR.
I have never held or fired a Remington 597 vtr, but like the look and the 597 seems to be a good platform.

Need advice on what i should do either sell the ISSC MK-22 and pick up a few parts for the SR-22 or pickup a 597 VTR???
I like the MK-22 and have not had any problems with it yet, but i thinks its only a matter of time, so get rid of it while i can...

any suggestion would help.....

the sr-22 seems to be the best out of the bunch as long as the screws are blue loctite'd on. 597 would be much of the same. i say upgrade the sr-22. i want a scar but all these owners' bad experiences are scaring me away :D

I have the Remmy with an ar carry handle and a2 front sights mounted on a gas block with a2 rear stock, simple and minimal is what I like, the Ruger looks a little to space gun for me but thats simply taste. It is ammo sensitive but when it likes something it groups very well, and I've not had any feeding or ejecting issues either. I also picked up a Promag 22rd mag, as the remmy 25 round looks to stupid.

Id have to vote for the SR 22. I cant say enough good things about them. Ive shot thousands of rounds through mine over the course of the summer and its had all of 2 misfires. It chews through whatever you feed it. You can trick them out to look like whatever you want. I just replaced my stock with a Magpul CTR fell in love all over again.

thanks everyone for your input, i will be keeping my SR-22 and I just picked up a used 597 VTR, so I'm looking forward to hitting the range and doing a test on both guns as well as my ISSC Mk-22. I thinks its time to start upgrading what I now have....
Thanks again
