I own a Ruger SR 22 pistol which is a fun little gun to shoot. About a month ago I was shooting when the metal elevation screw stripped the plastic threads and the spring and the screw went flying. I was able to locate both pieces but when I tried to put it back together I realized that the plastic threads were completely stripped and the screw would not stay in place. I contacted the Ruger repair company - Snap Shots in Quebec and the immediately sent me out a new one under warranty.

Here is my problem with the new replacement rear sight. The elevation screw and spring keep on coming loose and and popping out every 100 -150 rounds. I am checking the screw every couple of mags. Yesterday I applied some blue loc tite as I was getting frustrated. I emailed the Snap Shots this morning and I assume they will send me out another.

Has anyone else had this issue? Has anyone replaced the sights all together?

Any and all info would be great. Again its just a little plinker but my old eyes hate looking for little parts. Thanks in advance.

Looking to pick up one of these. Did you ever resolve the rear sight issue? Anything else you would mention about this firearm?

Snap Shots sent me another rear sight under warranty. I have installed it and this time I applied a small amount of blue loctite to the elevation screw. I have not had any issues since. Its a great little gun that pretty much shoots anything I put in. I have near 4000 rounds through it. My main ammo is CCI mini mag, CCI standard velocity and Blazer 40 and 38 grain. The only con is the very limited after market sight options for this gun. HiViz makes a from sight replacement but not a rear. Williams makes a rear sight replacement but the reviews are mixed. If the rear sight fails again I will try Williams.
