Hey guys and gals,

I don't really keep up much with optics and whatnot, and my el cheapo red dot I bought for my sr-22 is starting to show signs it needs to be replaced.

Is there anything half decent a guy can buy for 1-200 bucks for these?

I mainly use the gun for shooting squirrels and stuff like that.

Thanks for any discussion!

I have used Bushnell TRS25 on several 22lr ( my kids stuff included...so 4 units total) for many years with 1000's of rounds and stll working well. Nice bright dots for sunny days and easy to see regardless of background.
Several of my shooting friends also love these. On a 22lr they will last forever.

I have tried the Ebay cheap dots that even look like the TRS25 for $20 or so. They work ok...but i found the dot brightness is much fainter on a sunny day and can be barely visible sometimes.. My friends say the same.

+1 on the TRS-25. I have a couple, but I don't run them on anything anymore. They're not half bad for under 200 bucks though. Don't bother with any of the sub $100 dots, they're all garbage (With the exception of the chinesium c-more railway knock-offs, I actually have a bunch of them and like them for the $50 or $60 you pay for them. You can put actual c-more dot modules in them if you want a different dot size).

I haven't actively looked at pricing on the TRS25...but they were about $90 when I bought them 10yrs ago (and still running just as good and bright when we bought them). I think I saw them on sale at just before Xmas for $125?

I have a few Holosun's as well...they have been A+. I didn't mention them since they were over the $200 limit...but yes good choice!

Vortex and Riton I have heard positive feedback on also.

Spend the extra $50 and get a Holosun 403B. I've got 3 or 4 of them and they're solid.

Holosun is what I've been adding to more and more of my guns. They are absolutely better than a TRS-25, if you can manage the extra money.

I have an HS510C on my open shotgun, a couple of HS507comps on my 2 open steel challenge rimfire guns, etc. They're awesome for the money.

You can find them used new for under 100$. My last one was NIB for 90$ shipped.

I like the trs, I also have a couple of those pistol red dots I really like, take a look at them. I had a Burris fast fire one
