Will the new SR-22 be available in Canada? If so, when?

Response:
We are sorry to advise that: Because of the military-style features of this rifle (telescoping stock, flash suppressor, etc), the US State Dept. will not approve export licenses for commercial sales in Canada. They will consider export licenses for Law Enforcement, Police & Government Agencies only.

We know this is disappointing to all, but it is the current US policy on exports of firearms with these features.

Funny, I emailed Ruger the same question and I got the exact same answer. Wouldn't hurt for anyone interested to email them as well, maybe if they get the hint that they are losing out on a lot of business, they will make a Canadian-Friendly version so Remington doesnt get 100% market share on the tactical 22 market. I mean practically everyone I know who owns guns has a 10/22, Im sure Ruger makes money in Canada.

Sounds like BS to me .
How is Remington getting them in ? How is S&W getting them in?
 
I believe it might because of the ultra-deadly flash hider they are installing on the Rugers, or some other feature which makes the rifle into basically a mass murder spree waiting to happen. Can't blame our government on this one, its the Americans this time....
 
Not ruger's fault either.
Although all dealers in the US should be fighting the export laws, they're losing money because of them. And if the dollar continues to rise, they'll be missing our business.
