ive always been mystified as to why sound suppression on guns was prohibited in canada.

only thing i can think is that they fear that once we crew a suppressor onto a gun we will all of a sudden turn into hardened assassins!

For me, it's the single-biggest....Canadian "nanny-state" issue facing gun owners in this country. I signed the petition (e-575) but as expected, the 11,127 people who took the time to sign it were rewarded with 5 sentences, the most condescending of which read;

"Any device intended to muffle the sound of a firearm has been unlawful since the 1900s. Sound reduction or elimination reduces diminishes the public's ability to react to gun violence and makes it harder for law enforcement to become aware of a possible criminal incident.

The Minister of Justice encourages firearms owners to make use of other forms of hearing protection that are commonly available and that do not adversely impact public safety"

So yes, you read that right. The government is suggesting that the desire to own a sound moderator is directly tied to lawful gun owners in Canada having criminal intent. And for the record, ear muffs are a good idea...ya bunch of dummies.

Infuriating how much we're paying these donkeys to insult us, and ensure unfair gun laws are never scrutinized. Tough to be a proud Canadian with the selfie-king at the helm.
