After a year of owning my Ruger SR1911 5", my eyes were moving to the little sister SR1911CMD 4.25". I love the SR1911 and with a few pre break-in touch-ups such as polishing the disconnecter, throating the barrel and polishing the ramp this 1911 has performed flawlessly and eats all ammo fed to it.

A year ago I paid $650.00 for the 5". As I stated I'm looking at the little sister (SR1911CMD), but looking at the prices a year after I got the full size I am astounded that the prices have gone up nearly $250.00, ($850.00-$895.00) A year ago it was difficult to even get one of these handguns. Now their all over the place and the price has gone up nearly 27% before taxes. What's the deal? It cant be supply & demand, our dollar is only 8% lower. Shipping costs really haven't increased. Is there something I am just not getting here?

Shooter's Choice, Alberta has the compact model for $865 which includes the tax. So, would just be shipping on that.

One of our local shop's has it for $967 + 12% tax which is at the extreme top end of the scale, as far as I've seen.

I'm skipping the compact SR1911 at this point - well, until they bring it out in 9mm, that is...lol....

I think that If I'm going to pay $900 - 1500 for a 1911 I will stick to Kimber or Para. The reason I went with Ruger was a great product at a good / reasonable price. Hell I only need one 1911. I guess I'll just have to buy the IWI Jericho 9mm range kit with my $700 that I saved up.

If you are looking at the polymer version of the Jericho check out the Grand Power K100 from Dlask arms for $539

Kimber maybe. Personally, I'd take a bone stock Norinco over any Para all day long, though. :p

Just called North Pro, they have 3 left at $647.00. Regular price is $749.99...100 bucks off, ya can't beat that!
Even at $750 it would be a good price, compared to what everyone else has marked up there's at. North pro seems to have some unbeatable deals.

I've bought from there before..... can't recall if shipping was in or not.... however they are a pretty good all 'round bang for the buck just the same.... great service, too.

i remember when i picked up my first 1911.
i also remember when i picked up my 14th.......

i don't like to think of it as an addiction, rather a hobby that has me by the balls!
