Boxing Day to New Years sale: $399.99 US translates to about $515 CDN. Need I say more? [Search IRunGuns site with "Ruger 1230" to find the deal if the link acts up.]

Since the VLEH is coming from the Canadian store in the Edmonton area, there is only GST and Canada Post shipping to worry about.

All up, you're looking at about $565 to $585 depending on where you live. Right now, that deal is the best in the USA and Canada for an available VLEH. The U.S. arm of IRunGuns is sold out of the Target Tactical.

Bass Pro had the Target Tactical/VLEH on sale for $579.97 until Xmas, the lowest price recently offered by that big box establishment. Add tax alone and you were still over $600. Yes, the ruggedly-built Dar-22 may be better than the VLEH -- but is it $200 better in basic form with the stock Ruger trigger? ($700 + tax + shipping = roughly $775 + trigger upgrade = $840.) The Target Tactical comes standard with an approx 4lb-pull target trigger.

IRunGuns rocks: Nine left in stock at the moment.

** Note: the lil' bipod could be better so the first thing you may want to do is order another bipod (UTG model TL-BP69ST is a goodie because it folds off itself and therefore no spring action levers/pries on the connection sling stud and forearm). Or, alternatively, just leave the supplied bipod off. The rail also is stock Ruger and needs to be replaced by an acceptable picatinny stand-in: UTG model MNT-22TOWL otherwise known as the UTG Tactical Low Profile Rail Mount for Ruger 10/22 Rifle is one choice. On a normal 10/22, that rail is slightly too high to see through to the sights -- but the VLEH is sight-less so no problem. Both of those items can be had off Amazon Canada with free shipping if ordered together.

Never ordered from them. Do they have them in stock or do you have to wait for them to be brought in?

Sitting in Sherwood Park just ready to be scooped up. When those go, I doubt there will be any more coming in since the U.S. side of IRunGuns has none and Ruger doesn't have them listed on the website any more (but likely still has a stockpile warehoused somewhere).

I hadn't ordered from IRG before either and had no problem at all. I PMed the IRunGuns contact on CGN and had a response back about location of stock and shipping in no time flat. Sold!

According to the IRunGuns contact, the rifles will ship out January 2nd right after the holidays. This is no wait-for-two-months-for-U.S.-stock-to-come-in affair. Simple: order from a Canadian store/office and out they go from the same place. I'm guessing that shipping to Regina would be no more than about $35, if that. The shipping to Cowtown from Sherwood Park (Edmonton) was calculated at about $22.

That is a great price.

Correction: That is a FANTASTIC price. ;)

Just to put that stunning sale price of $515 in perspective, another very hopeful/optimistic CGN sponsor has the VLEH listed retail at $849.99. The lowest price from a CGN-related biz -- other than IRG -- is $639.99 + tax, shipped free (now Out of Stock).

With the exchange rate the way it is, it's a gift. When I checked prices in the States, the IRunGuns CDN price was actually lower than anywhere in the U.S. for available stock i.e. ones you could order.

Funny thing is, though, no one seems to be taking advantage of that gift. When I checked stock numbers a couple of nights ago, the VLEHs were 9 in strength. Ditto now. I can't understand why more rimfire nuts aren't jumping all over them. A few years ago, you couldn't get your hands on one in Canada due to Ruger's backlog. BTW To check stock numbers, you plug in "10" in quantity on the order page and it comes back with the number available.

I stand corrected sir, you are right. :)
If I was in the market I would snap one of these up.
May be in a few months they will have a deal like this on the Kriss Defiance DMK 22 c LVOA:)

Last call on the $515 pricing. I believe the IRunGuns sale ends tomorrow in the New Year. The $499.99 U.S. price tag will then translate to about $639.99 Canadian -- a jump of $125!
At that time, the purchase of the better built, Canadian-made Dlask Dar-22 is going to make more sense.

Received my VLEH this morning. Deal! Turns out that it's the "extinct" Ruger 50th Anniversary edition with the original spring bipod. The new ones have a downgraded bipod without springs. Now I have both versions. The 50th Collector's model comes with a laser marked bolt, engraved receiver and specially designed box as shown here: h ttps://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2014/9/24/ruger-commemorates-50-years-of-the-1022-with-anniversary-edition/ . Beauty! An absolute stroke of luck getting one of these.
Couldn't be happier with the IRG sale price, excellent service and product.
