Ruger says it's there own proprietary process on stainless. Any input on how they do that finish?
Anybody out there come up with anything close? (My Ruger stainless is way too shiny and bright)

beadblast it with glass beads...will flatten up the finish quite nicley....
I sandblasted an old Anschutz single shot 22 and then gave it some cold blue, turned out great, and nice dark grey finish....

x2 on the beadblast. I want to do the same thing on my stainless Ruger .35 Whelen that Rembo built me last summer, I don't like the shine either. I haven't looked around yet but I'm assuming that Bits of Pieces should be able to do it. Barry sandblasted, parkerized and Gunkoted my blued Model 70 last year, he should be equiped to bead blast as well.
