Hey everyone
Not really sure if this is a dumb question,but here it goes...I have a ruger mk1 pistol and it seem to miss fire every couple of rounds, would it be stupid to file a sharper point on the firing pin ..

Yes! The firing pin is probably OK and you don't want to change its shape.
I would recommend investigating other causes:
- is your ammo old stuff from the basement?
- is the gun completely clean?
- are the springs OK?
-what is the general condition of the gun?

I would suggest a trip to the local smith instead of filing anything.

I had one with the saem problem years ago; the previous owner had dry fired it too many times and rolled the firing pin over. I called Ruger and they sent me a new one for free.
