Rugger mk1 firing pin question......

Hey everyone
Not really sure if this is a dumb question, but here it goes..I have a rugger mk1 pistol and it seems to miss fire every couple of rounds, would it be a bad idea to file a little bit of a point on the firing pin

Probly not a good idea, rimfire firing pins are generally flatish.

When you say misfire, do you mean the firing pin hits the rim and doesnt leave much of a mark, or the round just doesnt go off?

Could be ammo! Or maybe needs a good cleaning...likly one of these options to start.
