Hey guys, I live in the edmonton area. I was just wondering if I could be advised or redirected to some info in regards to shooting outdoors and where we could go exactly.
A couple weeks ago we went clay shooting with some friends out by his acreage.
I'm mainly trying to just go and put target sheets up and shoot them.

Any info would be great! Thank you for your time.

Most anywhere you can hunt, you can shoot.

Read your hunting synopsis, find areas hunting is permitted, go explore.

Not many people will share their good shooting spots because of how disrespectful the average person is to the land.

Statutes and regulations are written at three levels, federal, provincial, and municipal.

There isn't much at the federal level, most of it is in provincial hunting regulations and county bylaws. Strathcona county for example has a firearms discharge restriction that defines a large portion of the county as an area where you can discharge projectile weapons for legally killing animals, but no other purposes.

google earth is your friend. Find a road that dead ends before a bunch of bush about an hour out of the city and set up on that road with targets at the bush end. Know what is behind the targets for 5 to 7 miles. Clean everything up.
Or join a club!!

Parkland county has a discharge bylaw as well for some parts near the city.
