Ruptured Case Extractor

can you not just use a bore brush a little bigger than the case
shove it in and pull it back?
this usualy works for me
use a new or a stiff brass brush
failing that an easy out works quite well

how about jamming an empty up the shoot in hopes of getting a compression lock on the busted casing and buling it back ?

Didn't try that... but my cleaning rod ain't all that long.

Anyhoo... I got my mitts on a case extractor (Thanks Phil!) and it won't bite. I've spin the threaded end to various lengths to get it to grab, and NOTHING... I'm getting a little frustrated.

well seeings how you didnt try my easy out approach LOL try putting a bit of JB weld on a pencil then carfully insert into and set it on the inside of the brass then let sit over night in the morning just pull on the pencil

I was at the range yesterday and I guy showed me his homemade broken case extractor.
All it is, is a 6" bolt 1/8" bent 90 degrees into an L shape forming a handle. Then he ground the threaded end to make a finer point, then bent a very small hook out of that end forming a little flattened claw.
He said he just puts that little claw up into the chamber and inside the broken case and hooks onto the mouth edge and gently pulls it back out.
He says it works.

Hope this helps.

I think I might try a variation of your technique, SG.... Only using the extractor and loctite.... I've got a tube kicking around from when I was going to rebuild the engine on my old truck.... because the exctractor does bite, but it pulls free as I pull back on the bolt carrier.... it's like it's only grabbing a tiny bit of the case neck , and the rest is seized right in....
