And, FYI.. the military certainly thinks its a valid consideration. They rebore milsurps to .22 for training.

Ive seen 22 SLR's and 22 SA80s but they were for the Cadet's. Cant ever recall seeing them used by anyone else. I certainly never laid hands on one.

Yes, there were .22 Enfields. I know someone who trained with them in the Canadian Forces.
