I was thinking of buying a Torakev 7.62x25 but I have noticed not only surplus is drying up even the non surplus seems to be getting harder to find. It's even hard to find 7.62x39 both surplus and non surplus. Luckily I have quite a bit of the rifle ammo for my needs at the moment.

But has anyone else noticed that those rounds are getting harder to find?

I found when i looked recently surplus 7.62x25 was almost as much as 9mm. So unless you want the historic allure of a ww2 or a cold war pistol your could be better served with a s&w svd or new norinco in 9mm.

Good luck and happy shooting.

I have as much as albertajohn, and hardly shoot any of my sks anymore, if I should ever run out of surplus I so far have a stockpile of 1500 new privi brass, and enough primers and projectiles to make 10k more rounds, I tend to hoard reloading supplies and use the projectiles for 303 brit as well

And on a side note I imagine some ammunition and reloading supplies are going to become scarce like they were 5 years ago, there is panic buying going on in the states and to a lesser degree here in canada

Tradeex has crates of both Ammos your looking for
It is Czech for the 7.62x25 and Chinese for the 7.62x39.... both work well and go bang.
Geo political situation as it is nations are holding back or raising prices on stock. Buy what you need now.

I'm not looking for ammo. What are you talking about?

If you are talking specifically about Russian ammo, them yes, it's hard to find and will eventually disappear unless the political mood changes.

Canada has had an embargo on Russian goods in place for some time as a result of the Ukraine border dispute with "Russian-backed" rebels...

I agree but these day's my budget is limited and I can purchase a Chinese for 200 bucks. Thant's why I was looking at the Torakev
