Does anyone have any experience with the Russian Bear 7.62x39 ammo? I picked up a quanity last month in Alabama, I hadn't shot it yet, I was just wondering. It was about 89.00 a 1000 rounds.

No it is likely made by Ulyanovsk or LVE. Much better than Tula/Wolf. BTW that price is excellent, even by US standards. Of course it goes without saying that you obtained the correct US export documents ;-)

Nope. Apparently x39 is a no go for export permits (I haven't actually tried), and the Russian plants are running full tilt for domestic and foreign military orders. It will likely be spring before we see some light. I will be speaking with the plants in March, so I will know more then.
