Today I came across (and still have the chance to buy) what seemed to be a standard refurb of a 1940 Izhevsk production SVT, that is until I saw this marking:

It strongly resembles the capture marking applied to Russian captured K98Ks, this mark seems to also be underneath the rear sight:

Could this be a Russian recaptured SVT? I saw no capture markings from other nations on the rifle. Great bore, EP matching except mag and late pattern muzzle break.

What would the value of this rifle be?

No. Recaptured rifle would have either depot marking on stock (would be removed during sanding) or F.L.P. on receiver, and no such SVTs are known. So it's a regular refurb rifle.

1940 Izhevsk was a relatively low production at least. Seems like the going rate now is 500 +- depending on condition and other factors. I'm thinking that isn't an AVT stock?
