I see we have Russian captured k98s and p38s for sale here but was wondering about g43s. You would think there would be stockpiles of them with the other stuff. Was that something already imported somewhere else or is it something we might see in the future? Also did the Russians capture much for Japanese weapons? I'm not sure how much fighting they actually did.

Ive heard that they have stocks of them. Problem being is they want a fourtune for them and for the importer to take a pile of them and nobody want to touch them because of it.

Most valuable German weapon from Ukraine's ex-soviet depots was moved to Germany and other European countries in 1990x almost for the price of scrap metal on top of some bribes. That included StGs, MP38s and MP40ss, G41 and G43 and some other rare stuff. Stuff disappered even from museums and movie studios that had their own stashes. Not much left of that. Still there are some K98ks, P38, lugers, Star Bs, ZB-30s, MG34s and MG42s. Interesting that all ZB-30s I saw were non-refurbed all original in original transit cases with all accessories. Can't speak for Russia and Belorussia about their depots. God knows what's there.

Apparently russia has a stockpile, but they want a lot for them, by the time they hit our shores they would cost as much as the ones already here.

Sooooo.......what is the issue then?? If people want one bad enough then they will pay the price the market supports. I "get it" that everyone wants to do a great deal but if the going rate is X number of dollars then, it is what it is. Over pay for some American to part with his rifle or over pay for some importer to bring a batch in, it is all the same.

Cost, revenue, availability, demand and market capacity. Easier to sell locally or in Europe, where collectors could enjoy original full auto, converted semi auto, full auto blank firing for reenactors, or decent deactivation when you can take down all parts and it cocks and clicks. For original semi autos European collectors would also pay more. All we get are refurb bolt actions and semis as it's bottom cheap and perfectly fits into our castrated gun privileges. Even with bottom cheap category - how many more Skss could this market swallow? Not much I think. Even I have one SKS and everytime I bump into it I am asking myself why do I need it? Of course it's nonrefurbed all matching scarce letter series rifle, but still I dont need it nad I have it. I think we have more SKSs than the number of PAL holders.

There's no shortage of k43 available. But guys want a cheap option. They cant or won't pay $3000+ but still want a k43 and think RC is the answer but if are just as much, that crowd still won't want it. and most guys who pay $3000 or more don't want RC

The other issue in dealing with Russia is the quantity of the purchase. It's not like buying 1 or 2 or 10 rifles, they want a $2,000,000 US dollar order which no dealer in the US is willing to take the Risk as some of the rifles are good and others are junk, corroded, broken and they are all reworked by Ivan and Olga to Russian Capture Standards.
