She found me, I wasn't looking for her, these old guns are not of my interest, but well, opportunity to learn something new.
It's my understanding M1845. Could have ended up in Canada in two ways - as BB from Crimean War (heard stories about defacing imperial eagle on captured guns and this one seems to be defaced) or as captured and surplused and sold to US during Civil War.



















































 
I kind of know nothing about guns that old so can't really comment if it was manufacturing imperfections or deterioration due to time and elements. I would assume latter.
 
WHAT!!!?? Not ANOTHER foreign made military assault rifle getting into the country!!??? Very scary!! This just can’t happen! How un-Canadian!!! For shame!!!!!😂🤣
