Russian m44 stamped 1955?

- Russian production stopped in 1948
- Poles & Hungarian up to 1956
- Chinese built them up to 1961

...and don't forget Romania. These are most commonly mistaken for being Soviet, as the Cugir symbol - an arrow in a triangle - is very similar to the Soviet Izhevsk mark.

The years of production for Eastern European Mosins:

Hungary: M91/30s from 1950-54. M44s from 1952-53.
Poland: M91/30s in 1951 only. M44s from 1951-55.
Romania: M91/30s in 1955 only. M44s from 1953-55.

No, this one has the soviet style wreath/crest on it, but the date stamp and blueing remind me of my Polish m44? i'm thinking it might be romanian?
