Hi...

I just purchased a POSP mount Russian zoom scope - 4x8x42 - and I can barely see the reticle. Am I doing something wrong (can this be adjusted?) or do these sights just kind of suck? It cost me a couple hundred bucks....so I'm hoping the damn thing will work.

Recticle focus is usually accomplished by moving the rear lens in and out and.... usually out for older eyes. Many scopes have you turn the occular lens housing on threads, then lock it into adjustment with a lock ring.

If this scope doesn't do this...`then??? ...back to mother Russia.

I have found the Dragonov reticles to often be faint. The are etched into the glass and are very thin. TRy the focus, but it might just be the way it is.

What to do, What to do???

 What you should do with your Russian Optics is trade it in for Chinese copy of American Product. Less expensive and less likely to have problems.

Now if you want real quality, then buy a Chinese copy of a European Scope.

:D Don't worry be happy!

After working in Russia the past 3 years and in Kazakstan before that, I must admit that Russian women are very charming and EASY ON THE EYES!

This is along the same lines as being a tourist and being local.

ditto

My 8x POSP with illumination is great. Very clear. Make sure the variable focus ring at the back is set for your vision (or lack thereof). Lots of stuff is coming out of Belarus with good reviews (FOR THE MONEY SPENT). If you don't want any issues or hassles, buy Leopold tacticals and go broke! LOL!

Not sure what the answer is .. my rule of thumb is that you USUALLY get what you pay for .. there are exceptions of course (like Russian women!)

:p

Maybe I just got a dud. I sent it back to Belarus - not sure yet if I should request a refund or just another fixed power scope.

DAR where in Sask are you?

Well - it looks as if my scope was defective - BUT - there is a happy ending to this story. The customer service at dubyadubyadubya posp.ru is unbelievable. I sent the scope back to Belarus using Canada post small packet ($20) and sent them a scan of my manifest. It'll take almost 2 months to get there. That was yesterday - and today I already have my refund in hand. (They sent it electronically through (FRAUD ALERT) - INCLUDING shipping) So, I'm really only out $20 because Canada post will refund the taxes I paid. Hats off to this dealer - I really didn't expect a refund for at least 2 months (and wondered if I'd get one at all).
