Russian PU Snipers for Sale in Australia

Aussie gun dealers get taken to the cleaners on gun licensing as I understand. I guess that's reflected in the prices. Poor Aussies:(

Here's one that went for $2290 in the States today,
Auction # 97329417 : http://www.gunbroker.com

That's a Hungarian Mosin, not a really good representative for PU sniper prices. For some reason, the Hungarian Mosin Nagants are rare, and more desireable down south, so they command a real premium. One of the U.S. dealers has (I.O? can't remember right now) has real PU snipers for sale for $900 right now. Humped up clones are going for $399.

RGuns has them in the States with scrubbed markings on the scope.

Only 6500 Hungarians were made.

Based upon the condition of the one in the GunBroker auction, that final winning price is not surprising. Of course it's a rare Hungarian M52 which always garners a huge premium.

For a comparison of markings and features, check the Russia - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18

There's both and authentic 1944 Mosin-Nagant M91-30 Sniper Rifle (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?p=1177 and also a 1954 Mosin-Nagant M52 Hungarian Sniper Rifle (click here)http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?p=1178

BTW, speaking of Australia, lots of interesting material here:
