Russian Rokon clone

I don't think they'll find a very big market here . I rode a Rokon years ago and it was fun but with 2 ATVs now i'd never go to a two wheeled machine .

I could see them selling some here, if they can maintain that $1000.00 US price. If they try to price it similar to a Rokon, they won't sell any.

Oh, I would certainly agree with that. The Rokon is terribly overpriced.

I also would like to see the reliability of this machine and hopefully it would be better that the last Russian vehicle that was imported here.... Lada....

Rokon is also a very low tech machine, we've advanced past that.

It is a low tech machine, but it does have its place. If its priced properly people would buy them. I agree that the Rokons have outpriced themselves in the market. There are many other better machines you can use to travel the trails,

Rokon is not a trail machine. It's for the woods where the trail ends. It's an amazingly simple machine for its complexity, something that can be fixed with a knife and a dime. It floats across rivers and climbs hill so steep that a motocross would stall. But it was never met to run the trails. Russian version will cost about tge same once Transport Canada gets through with it and we are no longer sanctioning Russian goods.

I saw tracks in the ditch north of Peterborough last week that looked like one of these would have made them. I was surprised at a few spots it was able to get through and over.

Keep in mind that they said the $1000 US price was for a KIT, not an assembled machine. They also did not say how complete that kit was, you may have to supply your own engine and who knows what else. There is also the embargo on Russian goods, so not likely seeing one over here any time soon.

Even if you did have to assemble the machine yourself, it doesn't look like it would be hard to do. Its a basic machine.
But no doubt once our government gets through its safety ratings we'll be lucky to see one here at any price.

I agree that putting it together probably wouldn't be too difficult and might be fun. What I meant was that quite often when things like this are sold in kit form, they are not complete. For example, when they say it uses a 7hp Honda, engine it likely is something you have to buy separately. That may be the same for tires and other parts as well. Kind of a moot point though since Canada has an embargo on importing Russian goods since they attacked the Ukraine, so we won't be seeing these any time soon.

That’s a good possibility, as a home built aircraft kit comes with no engine, electrics or instrumentation as well.

I'd love to find something similar to the taurus for that price. Where we're at i don't have the space for a four wheeler, so something small like that could tuck into my shed easily.
