Hey guys~I recently picked-up a vented/metal handguard for my Russian SKS, and while setting up to take the wood off of mine..I wondered about the merit in messing with it in case I wanted to go back to the original configuration. Not from a "collector value" POV, just peace of mind. :) Anyhow, I checked with WR to see if it's a part (with or without wood) I can buy on it's own, and it's not.

Anybody have any idea where you can buy one?

Thanks!

Get a spare tube on the EE

Searched the EE, but didn't' post a WTB. I'd like to learn a little more about where to get parts if req...which is why I thought posting here was better. I'm new to SKS ownership! :)

Lever Arms sells the gas tube and piston as a set. Chinese but it will work fine on the Russian.

Thanks fenceline, I'll check with them.

tapco sells good piston/ tube sets

The Crapco ones are ok, but hard to find right now. Not cheap and sometimes need a little file work to fit, but they're solid. IMHO it's certainly easier than punching the tube out of the wood ones to install in another handguard.
