I have a nice Russian SKS that's been in a locker for the past 10 or 15 years. It looks great and functions well but bolt won't stay open on the last round.
Everything appears to be there except the pin that holds it open looks short. It isn't filed as it is blued. Will a Chinese Noranco part fit the Russian SKS?
Also is there any detailed reference books on the SKS around?
I also am looking for a good Book on the Mosin Nagant for my library.

Before you swap parts, is there any chance the follower arm is bent down more than normal, decreasing the lift to the bolt hold open??

Some SKS's were pinned to five rounds with a collar and rivit very close to the pivot point. Sometimes the follower arms get bent a little from people trying to seat an extra round.

same thing happened to mine.... someone forced 8 bullets into it, and the arm bent down .... i bent it back up and the bolt stays open again
