At one point I had a wartime Russian M38 that was also WP marked. That made sense as Russia would have armed Poland post WW2. First SKS I've seen, and much later (1958). I don't know much about Poland's relationship (arms wise) with Russia post WW2. I'm more of a war history buff.

Is it blued? I've seen the WP stamp before on laminate polish stocked Tula sks and some other rifles. I haven't seen the stamp on a hardwood sks before.

It is the original Russian hardwood stock. Has the inspectors stamp and the stamps around the crossbolt. According to what I've read, the Polish crests were sanded off the stocks and SNs restamped. It is blued with no sign of refurbishment.
