rust in brass case?

ok today i decided to cut a piece of S&B .303 brass in half because the case head was seperating and there is rust on the inside never seen this

If red I have seen it before and was given a fancy name for it at the time which you can google for more info.
Dezincification (chelation) .
They said it weakens the brass and that it is an indication my brass cleaning routine is not effective on that brand of case and I was possibly damaging them and to change my cleaning solutions etc..

I know brass can tarnish. Unless there is iron in that brass, I don't know why there would be rust.

ive never cleaned my brass then again i did buy these off someone for cheap with the intention of turn them into .410 brass a few were just too far gone

Could it be oxidized powder ingredients like iron
