At the risk of looking stupid, I ask you this...... Would the (moose)rut in Alaska take place at the same time as in central BC? and would there be a difference east to west as in Labrador/ BC?
Seems to me the timing of the rut is based mostly on the amount of daylight and prevailing temperatures. Hence, Alaskan moose, being farther north, will be rutting earlier than central BC. Mind you, I have nothing scientific to base this on.
