Hey
Has anybody bought an IBI barrel from Range Warriors Accessories?
I’m looking at the IBI AR15 ,19 inch medium profile. $324

I reached out to them but didn’t get a reply.

I’d like to know if it’s the M/S profile?
What GB journal?
Is it honed?
Or is it the same one off barrels that reliable guns are selling?

I have not personally bought a barrel from RWA but the only info I was told by them was that it's 0.75" for the gas block, the barrel weights approx. 1.030 kg, and it's a mid-length gas system. I believe these barrels were meant for their RWA 180B rifles.

Hey Brian, I bought my 7.62x39 barrel from them and am really happy with it. I can shoot factory Hornady Black 123gr SST just over MOA with the odd lucky group a bit under. I think that's fairly impressive for a 7.62x39. I have no idea if the barrel is honed or not or how much that even matters. All I know is the results I got from their barrel is good enough for me. Take that for what it's worth because what's good enough for me might not be good enough for someone else.

Also, from what I understand RWA is not into the firearms side of their business anymore. Barry and Kevin had their differences and Kevin is no longer with the company. Barry is running the company but is into manufacturing other stuff instead and is trying to sell off what's left of the firearms parts. I don't think you're going to get much of a response from him about anything.

I still think your best bet is to contact Ryan at IBI and ask if he can make you a barrel that uses a .750" gas block and has been honed.

Thanks,
I’ve been talking to Ryan, he said he won’t do a.750 in a M/S and there’s a reason why.
But he wouldn’t say what the reason was.. lol
I’m guessing the RWAbarrels are the same batch as Reliable.
Not honed.
I’m thinking a honed barrel will result in better accuracy.
Reliable IBI barrels state that they’re not honed, twice! So it must make a difference.
I’ll just suck up the extra $100 and buy directly from IBI

Thanks Jiff

Depends on your use for the barrel. The cheap one I got (same as Reliable is selling) is on a gun I only intend on using coyote hunting at 250 yards or less. When I tried the barrel and sighted it in I was able to easily hit shotgun clays at 300 yards so that's all the accuracy testing I needed. It is perfectly capable of serving my purpose.

If you're chasing the best possible accuracy and like shooting small little groups in targets I think you made the right choice to buy the barrel that you think will best serve that purpose. The hundred bucks extra will probably be worth spending.
