Tried to shoot a couple in my CZ557 today. Rifle wouldn't set them off. Headstamp RWS. E37. Ammo label from Century Arms taped to the plastic box. I guess they will be destined to be fired in a milsurp 98. Primers look to be very close to LR, but are most likely Berdan.

If there is a Star of David also stamped on the cartridge face it was made for Israel and it's a code, rather than a date. Some had the SOD, and some did not'
Most of the plain base E37 code RWS went to Portugal.
I had several cases of that stuff. It's pretty old, but I don't remember any of it misfiring, and it's post war production from the early 1950s
It's HOT. It's intended for machine guns. Not hot enough to be an issue in a K98 strength or better rifle, but noticeable.
I only fired it out of Czhek Bren Guns and K98s, so there wouldn't have been any issues. If memory serves, it was all Berdan primed and corrosive.

Also, thank you for the history on this stuff. I'll have to take a better look at the headstamp. I also have a small amount of German ammo 1937, 38 and 39. I won't be firing that stuff off. Also have some Russian 8x57.
